Portsmouth Cathedral Evensong
The Sunflower Dreams Project presented the exhibition: "Little Hope Gallery" at Portsmouth Cathedral, kindly hosted by Vice Dean Canon Dr. Harriet Neale-Stevens. On 24th February, the Cathedral hosted a special Evensong for Ukraine, featuring a local Ukrainian Choir, Two Colours, who performed in the service and afterwards at a reception. Real Ukrainian borsch and tea, made in a volunteer support kitchen in Ukraine, was served.
VIP guests included: Deputy Lt. of Hampshire, Mrs Arabella Birdwood, Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Lady Mayoress Diana Carruthers, Commander Paul Williams, RN Portsmouth and Dean Canon Dr. Anthony Cane of Portsmouth Cathedral. BBC South featured the exhibition and evensong that evening on the news.
Over 200 pieces of art all brought from Lviv and painted by children and students were on display, including a 6m long tapestry painted by Ukrainian kids, displaced by the war and now living in Lviv.
